Driver of tractor-trailer found dead off I-95 in Wells

The driver of a tractor-trailer that left the roadway on I-95 in Wells was found dead on Monday.

Maine State Police responded to the crash at mile 23 southbound around 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Troopers arrived to find the tractor-trailer on the grass embankment on the shoulder. There was no significant damage to the truck.

The driver was found dead inside. Police believe the accident may have been the result of a medical issue.

No other vehicles were involved.

The man’s name was not released Monday pending notification of family.
