A 23-year-old Arkansas man faces charges after being arrested for a second time for failing to register as a sex offender in Maine.
CBS 13 News reports police learned during a traffic stop Sunday in Rockland that Jonathon Daugherty was still failing to comply with Maine sex offender registration laws and his court-ordered “check-in” conditions of release.
Daugherty was arrested and charged with failure to comply with the sex offender registry and violation of the conditions of release.
Daugherty was taken to the Knox County Jail.
He was out on bail after being arrested in Rockland in November for failure to comply with sex offender registration, as well as refusal to submit to arrest or detention and failing to provide correct name and date of birth.
CBS 13 News reports Daugherty has a non-extraditable warrant out of Arkansas for failure to appear and register as a sex offender. Non-extraditable means Arkansas is not enforcing the warrant in Maine.
