A new New York Times story details Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner’s relationship with three women who describe him as physically intimidating and emotionally abusive

The three women were romantically involved with Platner, and described him as volatile, toxic, and at times physically aggressive.

They said he could be demeaning to women and, in at least one case, even physically threatening.

“He drank heavily and was regularly unfaithful,” according to the account in the New York Times. Lyndsey Fifield, a Virginia conservative who has worked for Republican campaigns, dated Platner between 2013 and 2015. She described an occasion when he yanked her out of a cab by her wrist after an argument when she wanted to stay in the car.

The latest revelation comes days after reports that he had sex messaged women early in his marriage.

Platner is the presumptive Democratic nominee to face Republican Senator Susan Collins in November.

There’s heavy interest in how Platner performs in Tuesday’s primary election after news of his sex texting women was outed. Governor Janet Mills has suspended her campaign, but her name will still be on the ballot.
