8 people have been injured after a car crash in the town of Saint George early this morning.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says that a black Hyundai was traveling south on Route 73 just after midnight, when it left the road at an intersection and struck a house.

The driver, 20-year-old Eliza Luce of Union, sustained serious injuries. An unnamed 16-year-old also sustained serious injuries.

Five other passengers — Aiden Stalcup, 18, of South Thomaston; Brooklyn Hart, 18, of Belgrade; and three juveniles ages 15, 16 and 17 — sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The final member, 19-year-old Michael Sabins of Liberty, sustained minor injuries but wasn’t taken to the hospital.

There’s no word on whether or not anyone inside the house was injured.

A combination of speed, alcohol, and drugs are believed to have contributed to the crash.
