A local brewery is under federal investigation in a case that appears to involve employee pay and benefits.

The United Staes Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division is investigating Flight Deck Brewing in Brunswick.

A spokesperson for the department couldn’t talk about much as the investigation is still open.

CBS 13 reports that the investigation does have to do with the “Fair Labor Standards Act”. which would involve infractions for things like minimum wage, overtime pay, and child labor.

On Friday, the managing partner of Flight Deck, Nate Wildes, acknowledged that they are aware of the investigation.

He also mentioned that it has to do with how Flight Deck Brewing keeps records.

In the midst of this investigation, the managing partner also stated that the company is currently updating the compensation package that is offered to employees.

Wildes said that the Brewery is taking the investigation seriously and will continue to work with the labor department.
