A House Fire in a South Portland Leaves Occupant Homeless

No one was injured after a fire in a South Portland home Friday night.

According to a statement from the South Portland Fire Department, crews responded to the two-story home on Cole Street just after 7:40 PM.

The fire originated in the kitchen and was later determined to be accidental.

Despite a quick response from crews, the home sustained significant heat and smoke damage throughout.

The Red Cross is currently helping with providing temporary lodging for the displaced occupant.
