Bangor Savings Bank’s Community Matters More program, which is part of the Bangor Savings Bank Foundation, aims to help thriving communities by distributing $155,000 in grants towards nonprofits in Maine and New Hampshire.
The public votes on the recipients through an online ballot, with the top vote-getters in each region receiving $5,000 grants.
Portland Trails and Big Brothers, Big Sisters were among the recipients in last year’s ballot.
On the ballot this year, nonprofits such as Maine Needs and the Olympia Snow Women’s Leadership Institute are featured.
Write-in candidates are also eligible for a $2,500 grant. Voting runs from April 1 to 30 at http://www.bangor.com/cmm
