Brunswick Police: Woman Rammed Cruiser, Led High Speed Chases Before Arrest

Emily Schroder/Cumberland County Sheriff's Office

A 33-year-old Bath woman faces numerous charges after being accused of leading police on two high-speed chases across four towns and ramming into a cruiser with an officer inside.

Brunswick Police say Emily Schroder sped away from a traffic stop in Cooks Corner on Route 1, leading an officer to abandon a chase.

Police say she then rammed another police cruiser twice before leading officers through Topsham, Bowdoin, and Bowdoinham, and then onto I-295, where she “drove at extreme speeds” before officers again stopped chasing her.

Officers say she was finally located at a gas station in Richmond, where she was taken into custody by officers from the Richmond Police Department, Maine State Police, and the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office.

Schroder was evaluated at Mid Coast Hospital, then taken to the Cumberland County Jail on seven charges – eluding an officer, driving to endanger, refusing to submit to arrest, assault on an officer, aggravated criminal mischief, violating conditions of release, and criminal speed.

Police say she was denied bail because of underlying bail conditions.
