Child Molestation Suspect from Rhode Island Arrested in Maine

A 32-year-old Rhode Island man who was wanted for multiple crimes of child sexual abuse was arrested in Maine on Tuesday.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Dathon Wright of West Warwick, Rhode Island was arrested in the Town of North Berwick.

Wright was wanted on three counts of first-degree child molestation, and two counts of second-degree child molestation.

Investigators learned that Wright fled to Maine and had been living with a woman who had young children in the home, which made his arrest more urgent.

Collaborative efforts from Rhode Island authorities and the Maine Fugitive Task Force led to Wright being taken into custody with no incident.
