Court documents released Monday by the Waterville District Court identified the teenage suspect accused of killing a 14-year-old last week.

15-year-old Aidan Grant, of Wayne, was identified as the suspect in the killing of Brooke McLaughlin.

He is charged with intentionally or knowingly causing the death of the seventh-grader, who was found in her Mount Vernon home on Monday July 18th.

According to Grant’s Facebook account, he had been in a relationship with McLaughlin since February.

Additional case documents, including a police affidavit that would include details of how Grant allegedly killed McLaughlin, have been ordered impounded by a judge and are not publicly available.

McLaughlin was a seventh grader at Maranacook Community Middle School who was described by friends and classmates as bright and kind.
