Domestic dispute in Waterboro leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

(WGME, Portland) The York County Sheriff’s office says a woman was shot Sunday in Waterboro, and the suspected shooter is dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Deputies responded to the shooting on Lakeview Drive around 2 PM. The woman was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her shoulder. She has since been released from the hospital.

Deputies say they attempted to interview her husband, Jeremy Rideout, but he did not answer their questions. After obtaining a search warrant for the home and an arrest warrant for the husband, deputies say they entered the house and found Jeremy Rideout dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. the incident remains under investigation.
