Fiery Scarborough Crash Caught on Video

There’s video footage of a fiery crash in Scarborough that trapped people and was difficult to put out.

Rescuers say both Scarborough and Buxton ambulances transported patients to Maine Medical Center in Portland with unspecified injuries.

Buxton Fire-Rescue says the fire proved difficult to control due to leaking gasoline, and the car’s hybrid electrical system added additional hazards.

Crews say they used foam and were eventually able to disconnect the battery and successfully extinguish the fire.

Buxton Fire-Rescue says bystanders had assisted the occupants out of the two vehicles involved in the crash before their arrival.

Crews quickly stretched a hose line and had water on the flames within moments.

The crash took place Friday, and was recorded on video here. Buxton Fire-Rescue says they were assisted by the Scarborough Fire Department with the car fire.
