The Maine CDC has confirmed the first case of measles in the state since 2019.

The case was confirmed on Friday, with health officials reporting that the person is from Penobscot County and had recently traveled from a state with measles cases.

The Maine CDC says anyone who was at the Saint Joseph Hospital Emergency Room in Bangor the morning of Feb. 3 and Hill View Mini Barns in Etna on Jan. 28 or Jan. 29 may have been exposed.

Anyone who has symptoms should contact their health provider before going to their provider’s office or hospital.

Symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, red, watery eyes, and a rash that spreads from the head down.
