Tensions between the U.S. and Iran remain high, as do gas prices in Maine, with the cost of a gallon topping more than four dollars for the first time since the war began.

AAA reports the price spiked six cents on Tuesday to $4.03, which is still more than a dime behind the national average of $4.14.

The cost of gas has risen more than a dollar since the start of the war.
President Trump has agreed to a 2-week ceasefire with Iran, delaying the threat of a large-scale bombing campaign.

Trump had said on Tuesday morning that “a whole civilization will die tonight” unless Iran opened the Strait of Hormuz.

The last time gas prices topped $4 a gallon was in 2022 after Russia invaded Ukraine.
