Gov. Janet Mills will be in attendance at the meeting of the National Governor’s Association next week at the White House.

It comes after a previous statement from the NGA saying that the Trump administration was only inviting Republican governors to this year’s meeting.

President Trump took to social media Wednesday saying he invited all governors with the exception of two.

Mills said Friday she plans to skip the dinner but attend the meeting and will be “ready to stand up for our state and Maine people.”

It comes after last year’s meeting which featured a testy exchange between Gov. Mills and President Trump over Maine’s transgender athlete policy.
