Investigation launched into Standish death

The death of a man in Standish last week is under investigation by Maine State Police.

Police were called to a report of a disturbance Friday night at a home on River Road, where they found the body of 49-year-old Matthew Hamilton of Cumberland County.

His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner but the cause and manner of death have not been released.

Everyone involved in the incident has been identified.

Police said there’s no threat to the public.
