Investigators say woman who died at Otis pond suffered medical event

A woman died after she was pulled from a pond in Otis over the weekend.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office says an unresponsive woman was found in Beech Hill Pond off Salisbury Cove Road Sunday afternoon.

The woman, 67-year-old Deborah Wedge of Tremont, died at the scene after Good Samaritans and first responders tried to revive her.

Investigators believe she suffered a medical event while in the water.

The death is under investigation.
