Lewiston Woman in Months-Long Drug Trafficking Investigation

Lewiston Drug Trafficking bust - Maine Drug Enforcement Agency


A 21-year-old Lewiston woman faces drug trafficking charges after a months-long investigation and undercover operation.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says it targeted the residence of Smantha Ogwudiegwu on Granite Street in Lewiston, where undercover drug purchases were made.

Agents say they got a search warrant and found a large quantity of drugs and several guns in the home.

They included 167 grams of cocaine, 7.9 grams of fentanyl, 1100 30mg Oxycodone pills, 60 Xanax pills, 30 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 2 handguns, and an AR-15 pistol.

Police say Ogwudiegwu was arrested at her place of employment on Howe Street in Lewiston.

She faces four counts of Aggravated Trafficking Schedule W Drugs Class A.

Bail was set at $12,500. Ogwudiegwu is currently being held at Androscoggin County Jail awaiting her first court appearance.
