A driver of a car in a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Canton back in 2024 will spend four-and-a-half years in prison.
WMTW reports Troy Kimball, of Mexico, Maine, was sentenced in Oxford County Court Tuesday to 14 years behind bars, with all but four-and-a-half years of that sentence suspended in his manslaughter conviction.
Police say Kimball was not hurt, but tested positive for cannabis in the crash where he rear-ended 44-year-old Travis Boivin of Leeds, who had slowed down for a school bus on Route 108.
Boivin was pronounced dead at the scene after being thrown 200 feet from his motorcycle.
Kimball could have faced up to 30 years in prison under state law for manslaughter.
