The man accused of killing a Portland group home employee was found not competent to stand trial on Wednesday.

Armando Negrete faces murder charges in the death of Marlene McNeil at the Shalom House facility back in May.

Negrete is being charged with intentional or knowing murder after police said he stabbed McNeill at the group home.

Prosecutors say Negrete may be competent to stand trial after treatment, and will remain in Maine DHHS custody in the meantime.
