Man sought after allegedly assaulting an officer in Waterville taken into custody

Police say a man who assaulted an officer in Waterville and drove away in a stolen vehicle was arrested in Greenville Tuesday night.

An officer spotted the stolen vehicle in the Circle K parking lot, and according to police, the officer was assaulted by a man when he approached the vehicle.

The man was identified as Ricki Gould, a transient who most recently lived in Corinna.

Police began searching for Gould, along with a woman who was traveling with him, Ashlynn Libby.

Police say they learned Tuesday night that the two were hiding out in a camp on Lily Bay Road in Greenville.

After several failed attempts to convince the suspects to come out, officers went into the camp and took both suspects into custody.

According to CBS 13, in addition to the outstanding arrest warrants, the suspects were charged with burglary and possession of scheduled drugs by Greenville police.

More charges are expected.
