Mills Was Fundraising in California the Day ICE Stepped Up Immigration Enforcement in Maine

Governor Janet Mills was reportedly in California fundraising when ICE agents launched “Operation Catch of the Day.” last Tuesday in Maine.

Axios reports Mills attended three fundraisers in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Her staff confirmed to the Portland Press Herald that she was in California for a previously scheduled event.

Axios reports one of her fundraisers in California required donors to give $7,000.

Mills is running in the Democratic primary to face U.S. Senator Susan Collins in November.

She’s facing high profile Democrat Graham Platner in the primary, who is drawing big crowds and has the endorsement of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). The winner will face Collins in the general election
