Motorcyclist killed after crash in Hancock Friday morning

One person has died after a crash on Route 1 in the town of Hancock this morning.

Maine State Police say they responded to the crash near the Washington Junction at around 8:25 AM, with an initial investigation finding that a motorcycle traveling westbound went into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a pickup truck.

The cyclist, 44-year-old Jim Hoyt of Sullivan was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the pickup truck sustained only minor injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
