One person is dead and three have serious injuries from a head-on crash in Standish overnight Sunday morning.

Cumberland County deputies were sent to the crash involving a car and a tow truck on Chadbourne Road in Standish at about 1 am Sunday.

Deputies say their initial investigation determined 48-year-old Leo Rocco of Baldwin was driving the flatbed tow truck, traveling Northbound on Chadbourne Road.

They say 32-year-old Luke Boyle of Portland and 27-year-old Trista Townsend of Limington were passengers in the tow truck.

Deputies say a car appeared to have crossed the center line and hit the tow truck head on.

All three people in the tow truck were taken to Maine Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies say the car driver died on scene from their injuries.

They say the identity of the dead driver will be handled by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and the Windham Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team.

Speed appears to be an initial factor in the crash investigation.
