One Injured in Oakland, Maine House Explosion

One man has injuries from a house explosion on Thursday afternoon in Oakland, north of Augusta.

The Fire Marshal’s Office was on scene. They say a middle-aged man was injured and transported to Thayer Hospital in Waterville before he was flown via LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

There is no word yet on his injuries. No other details were released about the explosion, which firefighters were sent to on Thanksgiving afternoon.

There are separate reports that the house was completely destroyed and the properties on either side were also damaged.
