Police arrested a Dixmont man in Bangor Saturday, who had just made bail for his arrest in Carmel.

Penobscot County Sheriff’s deputies say they arrested James Whaley, 41, in Carmel on theft and drug charges Thursday.

According to CBS 13, Whaley allegedly attempted to shoplift around $300 worth of merchandise from a Carmel business when police were called to the scene.

The deputies say they discovered methamphetamine in Whaley’s possession while recovering the stolen merchandise.

Whaley was able to make bail despite 9 other active bail conditions at the time of his arrest.

Police arrested Whaley again in Bangor Saturday on unrelated charges.
