Police launch death investigation at Portland group home

Police are investigating a death at a group home in Portland on Monday morning.

Police said Monday afternoon they were responding to a building owned by Shalom House on Woodford Street.

Police tape was seen blocking off the property, with Portland’s Crime Scene Unit at the scene.

Police say more information will be released soon and that there’s no danger to the public.

Shalom House is a nonprofit that runs group homes and offers residential services for people with mental illness.
