A political action committee created to help Republican U.S. Senator Susan Collins win reelection is spending nearly $2 million attacking Democratic challenger Graham Platner.

The Pine Tree Results PAC ads against Platner focus on his now-covered Nazi-associated tattoo and a 13-year-old post he wrote about sexual assault.

Both were highlighted in attack ads from Governor Janet Mills, who is also seeking the Democratic Senate nomination.

The attack ads from the Republican PAC are notable because Platner has not won the Democratic primary to face Collins, although he’s favored to do so.
