The body of a New Mexico man whose kayak overturned Tuesday morning near Deer Isle has been found.

The Maine Marine Patrol says the family of 55-year-old Jeffery Eaton, a summer resident, saw his kayak overturn and contacted authorities around 10:30 a.m.

Eaton’s body was found around 1:45 p.m. in the water about a half-mile west of Wiegand Place on Little Deer Isle.

The Marine Patrol says Eaton was not wearing a lifejacket or a wetsuit.
