Maine State Police are asking for public help to find a driver who hit an orange barrel that propelled into a construction worker on I-95 in Pittsfield.

Police say the 56-year-old construction worker was taken to a hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers say the driver continued without stopping and witnesses reported the driver turned around in his vehicle as the crash occurred before speeding away.

Police say the suspect was driving a silver pickup truck hauling a black dump trailer.

They say the incident occurred at about 8:18 am Wednesday.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the vehicle or operator is being asked to contact the Bangor Regional Communications Center at 207-973-3700, extension 9, and ask for Trooper Klayton Peckham.
