Widespread Internet Outage Impacts More Than 20 Maine Towns

There are major internet disruptions in Midcoast and central Maine with a widespread outage being reported by local provider Tidewater Telecom.

Almost two dozen towns have been affected in what the provider describes as a partial outage.

Tidewater first reported the outage just after 10 am Monday and said a fix is being implemented.

Towns affected by the internet outage range from Bowdoinham to Rockland to Waldoboro.

The company described the disruption as a widespread outage, but did not identify the cause.

The Tidewater status page list the following towns as having a partial outage:
