Windham Police are warning residents about a surge in thefts, specifically thefts in locker rooms.
Officers say most of the incidents have taken place when valuables were left in unlocked lockers.
They say the thieves are finding and stealing items, even when they’re tucked under clothing or towels
Windham Police say thieves are looking for quick and easy opportunities, and are confirming that wallets, pocketbooks, cash, cards, IDs, and car keys have all been taken.
Police are offering some tips to avoid locker room thefts:
• Always lock your locker
• Bring only the essentials
• Use a phone sleeve for cards
• Clip your keys securely to you
• Keep personal items hidden and locked in your vehicle
Let’s work together to reduce these crimes and keep our community safe.
