You may have heard college sophomore Jacob Webster on the air with the POR Morning Crew.
Jacob, from Westbrook, has a video project in mind: to accurately document what a college student does with all their time outside of class.
Here’s an exerpt from his GoFundMe page:
I have decided to follow around and interview various college students and see what they live like. My goal is to create an unfilitered, raw, reality driven film that documents what so many young individuals are doing for four years of their lives in college. Education is such a small part of college. The real learning occurs in dorm rooms at 1 AM and on the weekends. Whether it be partying, learning, participating in sports, or just hanging out with friends, I want the rest of the world to realize what actually goes on at a college campus. Every student is different, and I want to see what they spend their four years doing. In other words, “Four years of what?”.
As this is going to be a somewhat raw toned film, I only need a few things. To begin with, I need a camera to shoot with. I also need a microphone, and some video editing software. After researching the budget of other films, I decided that 1000 dollars is a somewhat bare minimum for achieving my goal.
I want to start filming as soon as possible. So the faster I reach my goal, the faster I get to start interviewing and following the daily lives of college students.
