Remember a time where you could sport your patriotism and it was acceptable, hell it was encouraged! Showing pride for the nation was one of those things that sort of held all of us together, all over the country and now, sadly, it seems to be fading with white guilt, fake outrage, and political correctness.
A story out of Texas has emerged and I felt compelled to look at it. The headline for the article was total click bait, but I bit anyway, and you can check it out, I put the link in the description of this post. The long and short of it is that Duy Tran, a Texas man, recently moved into a new apartment building wanted to display his patriotism through hanging an American flag over the guardrail of his apartment balcony. He has friends who serve in the military and this was his way of showing his support for all they are willing to sacrifice by serving this country. And look, don’t get me wrong, this country has its fair share of issues, but go elsewhere in the world and see how great we truly have it here in this country.
So Tran has his flag draped over his own balcony and then it happens. The management of the apartment complex asks Tran to take down the flag on the grounds that it might…MIGHT offend Muslims. Which, first off, if it does, shut up and don’t look at it then! We are forced in this country to pretend like events occurring around the world aren’t primarily stemming from a certain belief system and not address that in conversation. We allow others to practice and showcase whatever it is they believe in, not because we are nice people, but because we are America, the one true place in which we once had an idea that freedom of anything was the way life should be. Now, sadly, it seems that political correctness and scared white guilt forces people to reject the symbol of this nation, and that is just pathetic. How has this country come to this? When kids can take selfies of themselves as they stand on the flag with some sort of anti-American caption, but a man who wants to fly the flag of the country he lives in has become a potential to offend someone? WHY are we allowing our great nation to become infested with these spineless, emotionally weak human who think a piece of cloth is offensive? This, to me, is just someone scared of hurting someones feelings, but the truth is, in America, we have the right to offend one another! You have the right to be offended, i have the right to offend you, and we have the right to resolve it! You don’t have the right to restrict my language simply because you don’t like. If you don’t like it, don’t listen, don’t look. No one forces you to, so why are you infringing upon another persons expression? How can one be so self-centered, vein, or ignorant to think that it’s all about them, but then call others ignorant because they don’t agree with them?
I can ramble on about this for a lot longer than I am sure any of you would like to read, so check out the link for yourself, form an opinion, then post about it on WPOR’s social media, or, find me personally on Facebook (Adam Rondeau) Instagram (@adamrondeaushow) and we can discuss it further. Thanks. Bye.
