Ok, so today Jon brought up how he found NASA TV as one of his channels at home, and I feel like it should be addressed in further detail.
Amid all the bs we have going on throughout the world, politics, war, poverty, social issues, etc., there is a lot of over-hyped garbage that pollutes out airways. With all that nonsense it becomes easy to get caught up in the convoluted drivel but there are things out there far more interesting and, quite frankly, important. Sure, we need to concern ourselves with Government, social issues that infringe upon us (the real ones, not a lot of the fake ones we hear constantly about), and all the other malarkey of the world, but it is THAT world in which we should all admire at some point.
NASA TV ( http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/#public ) is a great place to just get lost! I mean seriously, how the hell does Kim Kardashian get all the attention she gets?! She’s a nothing, who has no real talent or value in my humble opinion, and we as a species has build a thing here on this planet, sent it INTO FREAKIN SPACE WITH A CAMERA!!!! And this thing we built orbits around this massive ball flying through the vacuum of space and we can catch a slight glimpse into that through our own technology. People, science and space exploration is an incredible human accomplishment, and it is tragic that it gets lost among the entertainment news and celebrity gossip clogging the internet. So please, do yourself a favor. Next time you go online to kill time or do whatever it is you do, consider science a potential search option.
