The Grammy’s had some great performances and memorable moments!
Pop singer, Sam Smith, won 4. He thanked his ex-boyfriend for being the inspiration for producing such a heart-felt record and who can’t relate to that.
Here are some of the other winners:
Best Country Song: “I’m Not Gonna Miss You”, Glen Campbell – Don’t listen to this song without tissues. It’s beautiful. It’s a musical letter from Glen to those that are going to be “left behind” because of his Alzheimer’s.
Best Country Album: “Platinum”, Miranda Lambert – She performed “Little Red Wagon” last night and had to be censored for dropping the “s” word. She looked great and Blake, her husband, was beaming! Who knew they’d have to worry about Miranda!? You bad girl, you. 🙂
Best Country Solo Performance: “Something in the Water”, Carrie Underwood – She didn’t show cuz she’s wicked preggo.
Best Country Performance By a Duo or Group: “Gentle on My Mind”, The Band Perry
Album of the Year: “Morning Phase”, Beck – Beyonce was also nominated in this category. When she didn’t win, Kanye West, got up and started to follow Beck up to the stage to repeat his interruption of Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech a few years ago. It was, however, a fake out. He didn’t continue until after the show when he unloaded on the Academy for not choosing the right winner and said that Beck should give his Grammy to Beyonce because she’s the one that really deserved it. Oh Kanye. I’m sure he’s never even heard Beck’s album.
Best Traditional Pop Album: “Cheek to Cheek”, Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga
Best Pop Solo Performance: “Happy (Live)”, Pharrell
Best Spoken Word Album: “Diary of a Mad Diva”, Joan Rivers. Her daughter, Melissa accepted the hardware for her Mom.
Best Comedy Album: “Mandatory Fun”, “Weird Al” Yankovic
