American Eagle Outfitters’ video ad for a new line of jeans called Skinny Skinny has had a whole lot of people confused, showing jeans so tight that they look painted on — because, it turns out, they in fact are, in what the company is basically admitting is an early April Fool’s joke.

When you click on “shop now” on their website for the jeans, a screen pops up with two cans of spray paint offering the product in, quote, “one size.” Shoulda been the giveaway right there.
