The two high school students decided to pay for a train ticket to Springfield, little did they know this would impact their life in the future.
The homeless man in the story, or should I say former homeless man, has since inherited $1.2 million dollars from his now dead Father. (Why he was homeless when his Father had $1.2 million is a question for a later time) As a way to show thanks to the kids generosity, he donated $10,000 dollars to the high school in honor of his Father!
This just goes to show that a selfless act shown by these two kids later had a beneficial pay back that they never expected. The school board has considered and approved giving two students in each graduating class for the next 10 years a $500 award for acts of humanitarianism.
This is a great example of a ripple effect in life. We all have choices that we make every single day, and very rarely do we do things just for the sake of it being the right thing to do. Sometimes it’s a good idea to just perform a selfless act for the sake of being a good person, and in examples like this, it shows that good deeds never go unnoticed. So basically, after reading this, just do something good for no other reason than “just cuz”. Because what if….
