Well…we have survived the first Presidential debate between the Hilldawg and Trump. To absolutely NO surprise to me, Adam, it produced results on all platforms of social media that I was fully anticipating. People throwing posts and memes talking about how whomever they are going to vote for is the better choice because X, Y, and Z…blah blah blah. Talking about how anyone voting for the other party is a **#^%$ and a piece of *&%$ and can go &^%$ #&#&*#( #^&@*. Wait…what?!
Why am I being attacked by people whom I consider friends based on who I will vote for? Why are we letting this election rip us apart and destroy the bond we have as friends? I mean lets be real, neither Trump or Hillary give a s**t about you or I…so why do we argue and attack one another like they do? Both sides have valid point, and a TON of skeletons in their closet. Both are self-interested, narcissistic scumbags who will do whatever they must to climb to the top and clinch the election, and WE ALL KNOW THIS! So why can’t we agree that the problem isn’t who wins, or who we vote for, but rather the fact that our system is so messed up that this is where we are at? Perhaps if we could all stop being such idiots pulling a veil over our own eyes and realize we have a broken system that requires a DRASTIC change, then perhaps as a group, a truly unified nation of people, we could force these dirtbags to change how they treat us!
In such a heated and polarizing political atmosphere, we need to stop being such angry hypocrites online, stop attacking our brothers and sisters, and start seeking a TRUE solution to the REAL problem, which is our politicians. The people we continue to elect, and RE-ELECT every four years who do nothing for us and consistently act on ideas that simply further themselves and their own political goals. We need to stop attacking each other and blaming the other side of the isle when it is the people on either side of the isle that ARE THE ISSUE!
So as you scroll through your news feed today and see people posting about the candidate you hate, remember they feel the same about you. Remember that person is your friend and it’s not worth arguing over their political views because you have a better chance of winning the lotto twice today AND becoming the President yourself than you do of changing their opinion. Instead, try to reason with them (that is if you absolutely MUST say something, because it’s better to just keep scrolling honestly) but try to reason with them and make them see the problem is the SYSTEM, not your personal beliefs. Food for thought.
