Officials at the Portland International Jetport say migrating snowy owls are causing a problem at the airport.
The main problem isn’t the birds, though. Too many people are “flocking” to the airport to take photos of the birds to post on Facebook and Instagram.
People are blocking airport access roads and parking illegally on roads near the runways.
But this isn’t the first time.
According to the Portland Press Herald, in 2013 “Two of the birds were shot after they ignored “hazing,” when airport staffers attempt to disburse wildlife by setting off fireworks that screech and bang.”
Let’s hope that doesn’t happen this year!
